Arts Center Friends Scholarships advance arts education by helping to fund classes, camps, workshops, and other arts-learning activities for youth and adults in Fuquay-Varina. We are committed to ensuring that all townspeople have regular and repeated opportunities to learn, practice, and perform at the Arts Center.
The Arts Center publishes its class/camp/workshop schedule three times a year; its course calendar runs from: January-April, May-August, and September-December.
Following enrollment procedures at the Arts Center, Arts Center Friends Scholarships are offered in two categories: youth (15 and under) and adults (16 and older). Scholarships are available for classes, camps, and workshops—all activities that have a clear educational scope.
Based on availability of scholarship monies, the Friends will fund up to 90% of an activity for a single individual. Individual applicants must provide evidence of financial need and of interest in/commitment to the activity for which a scholarship is sought.
Scholarship deadlines vary according to the published schedule: Scholarship applications are due one month before a class, camp, or workshop begins. Scholarship applicants will be informed three weeks before a program’s start date as to whether, and the extent to which, they have received scholarship funding. Once awarded a scholarship, recipients must complete their registration one full week before the class/camp/workshop begins. The Friends transfer all scholarship monies directly to the Arts Center on behalf of individual recipients. This requires scholarship recipients to register in person at the Arts Center.
Please note: as a general rule, we limit a household to three scholarships per year. Residents of Fuquay-Varina are given priority, but we encourage applications from non-residents as well.
